Play-based Learning

Young children are very busy learning how the world works. They are natural learners! Through play, children develop social and learning skills that build a foundation for academic learning later in life.

A Typical Day at LCP

At Loomis Community Preschool, your child will have a day filled with fun and learning!

  • Circle Time: All the children gather around to learn together with the use of song, instruments, stories, and finger plays.
  • Discovery Time: During activity time, the children are busy making choices and learning through play, including sensory experiences, art explorations, building toys, literacy activities, hands-on science and math, and fine-motor manipulatives.
  • Snack Time or Lunch: Sharing a snack or meal together is a fun part of our day and a great time for conversation with friends.
  • Outside Play: From tricycle-riding on the bike path to climbing the play structure to digging holes in the sandbox, there is lots of fun to be had with friends in our preschool yard.
